Applied Kinesiology

What is Applied kinesiology?

Applied kinesiology is the practice of using muscle checking to evaluate the status of "chi" (or "life energy") in the meridians of the body, and then performing interventions to balance that "chi".

What is a meridian?

Meridians are pathways in the body which were identified by Chinese and Japanese healers thousands of years ago. These pathways act as channels through which "chi" passes throughout the body. "Chi" is the life energy which nourishes everything that keeps our bodies alive. Other cultures have other names for this life energy but all refer to the essence of what defines us as alive.

Why do I care how "chi" is going through my body?

"Chi" nourishes every aspect of life down to each individual cell, but it most obviously affects muscles and organs. So if "chi" is blocked on its way to nourish different parts of the body, those areas of the body will be strained to perform their tasks. Pain (particularly muscle and joint pain), stiffness, digestive problems, postural problems and fatigue are only some of the many consequences of blocked '"chi".

What is a kinesiology balance?

Through muscle checking, we are able to determine what situations and emotions, foods, drinks and environmental factors cause your body to feel stressed. Just as important, muscle checking can help us determine what particual strategies and habits will help your body to deal with the stresses in your life. Muscle checking is using your body to find out what you can do to enhance your well-being. It is very specific to you. Every person has a unique situation and no two people have the exact same findings on muscle checking.
